Marine Wife Trying to get Pregnant
Submitted by marinewife1391
I am 19 years old and my husband is 24 and we just recently decided we wanted to start trying to have a baby. He found out he will not be deploying until 2011 (he is a marine), so we want to get pregnant now so he would be here for the time I was pregnant and when the baby is born. Usually in the military you husband is either gone while your pregnant or gone when you have the baby, so it works out perfectly for us now.
I have been on birth control since the 8th grade for medical reasons. My periods were so bad sometimes I had to go to the hospital from pain and fever and dehydration. The hormones in the birth control were the only thing that helped, so I'm afraid that going off of the pills while we're trying to conceive is going to be a very painful experience and that I'll end up back in the hospital when I get my period.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get pregnant pretty quickly, so I don't have to go through too many periods off the pill? And will being on the pill for so long affect my fertility?
I have a doctor's appointment in a few weeks and I'm going to let her know that we are trying and she will most likely put me on prenatal vitamins to help get my body ready—at least that's what the base doctor here usually does. Basically I'm just looking for any advice... and yes I know I'm young, but my husband's MOS is kind of dangerous, so we want to have a baby before he deploys.
