Myth: Female Fertility Declines Dramatically After Age 35
It's true—your fertility declines as you age. But you still have an excellent chance of conceiving a baby, even if you're past the reproductive world's magical number: 35!
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, you have a 96 percent chance of conceiving within one year if you're under 25, an 86 percent chance if you're between 25 and 34, and a 78 percent chance if you're between the ages of 35 and 44. That's right—you can have a healthy, happy baby even after the ripe ol' age of 35.
But keep in mind—you may need a bit more patience. As you age, it does take longer to achieve a pregnancy.
