I'm out today now, too. Tomorrow, I'll be scheduling some appointments I was hoping to avoid.

Well, I am out for February :( AF showed up today, so my first round of Clomid was not a success :( On to round 2--another month of dreaded hot flashes, nausea, and moodiness from these little pills--YES, I know all these things will continue on most likely when I'm actually finally pregnant, but at least then it will feel worth it, since there will be a baby in the end.

Thank you all so much, we have never done any tests, as we have fallen pregnant 3 times in the last year, but miscarried each time, first at 10 weeks, then the other two at 5 weeks, but we need to go and get some tests done, our medical scheme won't cover the tests and as we have moved across the country, bought a new house & completely renovated it & started new jobs in the past year, we have been very stressed & DH is travelling a lot, and expenses have been very high, so we are having to wait it out a bit, but we will get the tests done in the next two months. We live in South Africa so the initial tests blood tests & semen analysis will cost us R5500.00 (about $620.00) and IVF here costs about R55000.00 ($6200.00), so is a bit out of the reach at the moment.

On a positive note - the spotting has stopped and only 5 more days of the two week wait until I can do a test!

I feel the same way--I can't give up on this dream--I feel like I wouldn't have this desire to be a mother if it wasn't meant to be, and there is no way that I think I could possibly accept or understand it if it never happens for me. We started with a semen analysis--I'm not sure what it cost--If I remember, I think it was only like $25-$50 in Florida. My health insurance paid for the lab tests for me, so I'm unsure of how much it cost--I don't think it would cost more than $100 here in Florida though--but the other procedure to check my fallopian tubes and my uterus was around $1200 altogether, which was surprising, but my insurance paid most of that also. Insurance won't pay for IVF for me if we need it, and I just don't see a way that we should be able to comfortably pay for IVF, especially when it isn't a sure thing to work. Clomid each month is around $3-$4 per tablet here, so it isn't expensive to take Clomid to help with ovulation. I'm currently awaiting to see if I have a BFP or a big ugly negative from my first round of clomid.  Good luck--I know we are all trying to think positive, as difficult as it is...

So hubby and i started researching cost involved in infertility investigations & treatments, and we are feeling very overwhelmed and terrified of the costs, i feel like giving up! had hoped this month was the month for us, but i guess all we can do is keep on trying & get some help!

Have you done any basic tests in the past? If we aren't successful this month, we're going to start with semen analysis and I'm going to have a blood panel to check things like hormones and egg reserve. Hopefully that won't be too expensive. I feel your discouragement, though. If we needed something like IVF (isn't that really expensive?), I don't think we could do it. I really hope it works out for both of us! This is one dream I don't want to have to give up on.

Holding thumbs for everyone this month!!!!

So i've had spotting all week, had hoped it was implantation bleeding (the timing is right for it to be that) but it looks more like AF is showing up a week early! So hubby and i started researching cost involved in infertility investigations & treatments, and we are feeling very overwhelmed and terrified of the costs, i feel like giving up! had hoped this month was the month for us, but i guess all we can do is keep on trying & get some help!

I'm still hanging in there for February. My temp is still elevated and I'm about 9-10 days past O. Usually, I go 10-13 DPO before AF arrives, so I should know this week if we've had  success or not. *fingers crossed*

Good luck to the ladies still out there TTC!

Boy did that flu I had in January mess up this cycle! Day 32 and I finally got my temperature rise, so I think I finally O'd (after two obvious signs of my body trying). I was a bit discouraged after about day 28, feeling like I would never O, so I'm not sure we timed things right ... again. Hopefully, we'll get our little miracle soon! I probably won't test until 18 days of elevated temps, so I'll probably be on to March ... unless I get impatient and test the end of the month.

Well, ladies. I got my BFP on Saturday. Actually, I got 9 of them. I was so excited! We just couldn't wait to spill the beans. We told his family and mine. On Monday I told the ladies I work with and they were so thrilled for us. A few hours later I started to bleed. Having just called to make my very first U/S appointment, I had to call again to get checked out ASAP. They did a pelvic exam and bloodwork. Yesterday, I called the doctor and learned that my hCG was only a 9. This morning I took another test and it was negative.

So I got to know I was preggo for five whole days. I'm doing fine but I really wish we had waited to tell everyone. On to next month, I suppose!

Good luck and baby dust to all!

So very sorry to hear that...I hope you are doing well, and I am wishing you lots of luck!! I can't even imagine :(

Thank you Momkey, I am taking it one day at a time. Hubby is away for the 3 nights before I am due to ovulate this month, so guessing we are out for Feb for sure. Wishing everyone sticky babydust!

My cycles have changed from 30 days to 32 days so i will only be testing in March - so i am pretty much put for Feb at this point! but i am really getting over ppl asking when we are going to have kids! 3 miscarriages in one year, clearly we are trying! And then when i went to a doc to check everything out he asked me if i knew how everyhing worked so that I could fall pregnant!!!! Needless to say i will never go back to him again!

I don't think the doctor meant to offend you!  Nobody ever explained everything about trying to conceive to me, and health class wasn't much help, so I never did try to track my ovulation, just tracked my menstrual cycles!  My primary care doctor gave me different bits of advice on what to try!  When all that failed in 6 years, we gave up!  Now, reading different posts on this site about trying to conceive, I know it's harder than some thinks!  I thought it was hard, but not as hard as some others are having!  I have a four year old now!  We killed the stress levels in our house and lost weight, and then I got pregnant!  Could your difficulties of keeping a pregnancy be because your husbands blood type is not compatible with yours?  That is something my mom asked me when we were having trouble conceiving!  Turns out my mom had a miscarriage when they first conceived because of that, so she had to get a shot for all her pregnancies to keep them viable!  She had 9 of us!  So I suppose she knows what she is talking about!

I hope that you conceive and keep the pregnancy so you can have your own little one very soon! Wishing you Sticky Baby Dust!

Yeah, hopefully so! :) Same here--I'm in the hopes that this first dose of Clomid was enough to help my body ovulate. The hot flashes I've been having drive me nuts, so I'm hoping this is the only round I'll need--but I'll take all the side effects and hot flashes just to be able to have my own little one in my arms someday--then it will be worth all of this :)

Good luck! I hope the Clomid works for you and you don't have to be on it for long.

Thank you, me too!! If all goes well, my testing date will be February 21st :)

At least you tried :)

I have no idea about a test date yet. For some reason, I haven't had a temp rise yet this cycle so I guess I haven't ovulated. Hopefully, it will still happen this cycle.
