Healthy Snacks for Pregnancy

What are some good, healthy snacks I can munch on while pregnant?
Eating small, healthy snacks throughout the day is a great way to minimize morning sickness and heartburn, manage your weight gain, and ensure that you get all of the vitamins and minerals that you need. That said, it's a great idea to have a go-to list of snacks that are healthy, nutritious, and available.

Here are a few ideas:
  • Fruit: You can either snack on whole fruits like apples and oranges, or store cut fruit like grapes, pears, bananas, melon and berries in your fridge to grab and go.
  • Crackers and cheese or peanut butter
  • Pears with cheese slices
  • Apples with peanut butter
  • Half a sandwich
  • Milk and graham crackers
  • Pudding (especially made with milk, for extra calcium)
  • A handful of nuts
  • Dry cereal (like Cheerios or Rice Chex)
  • Yogurt
  • Cottage cheese with chopped fruit or vegetables
  • Breakfast bars (those with more fiber and less added sugar)
  • Hummus and pita bread, or pita chips

Humus and carrot sticks...(sans the garlic tho LOL heartburn city!!!!) I also love frozen pudding. I just make regular pops out of pudding and ummmm ummmm ummmm is it good. You can also stick a stick thru the lid of a single serving pudding cup and freeze it. That is just as good!

I'm going to have some grahm crackers and milk. i don't think i've done that since i was about 5 years old but if you say it's good for me, i'm all over it!

during my pregnancy i usually snack on carrotts like they are crisps and can eat up to 3 pears a day just for a sweetness kick. carrots are full of vitamin A as are pears therefore your getting a great intake of anti-oxi's.

These are really helpful. When I'm pregnant, I'm always hungry but nothing ever sounds good so it's nice to have a list like this that I can go to.
