Lessen Morning Sickness

Still feeling barfy after breakfast? (And lunch? And dinner?) Make your mealtime beverage an after-dinner drink—in the non-alcoholic sense. Rather than drinking liquids with your meal, wait half an hour before chugging down that Big Gulp. Something about the food/drink combo swirling in your stomach instigates upchucking. Graphic, huh? Like you weren't queasy enough already.

I'm 6 weeks along and I've literally become queen of the bathroom but i agree with most of these women, ginger ale, sour patch kids (my fave candy luckily and i stumbled across it as a cure purely on accident) and crackers are my life savers!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and I feel like CRAP.  I was perfectly fine up until last week and then the nausea kicked in full gear.  I haven't told hardly anyone that I'm preggers yet so I'm sure a few people are wondering why for a girl who normally loves food so much that I can barely tolerate the sight of it now.  It's hard when my kids wake me up in the morning and the first thing they want is breakfast.  I can barely even drag myself out of bed let alone smell food without almost hurling.  I'm not trying to sound like a whiner or anything, but this honestly sucks!  It's been 3 years since I was last pregnant, I didn't remember it being this bad in the beginning, but it totally is!

I've had success with jolly ranchers, ice in the mornings, eating dry cereal before climbing out of the bed (which i do very slowly and love it), Sour patch kids helped a little but still got most of the bag. I drink gingerale like its the best thing in the world, even if i end up throwing up anyway the gingerale helps it go easier (idk why).  Pepermints help with the nausea feelings. And i keep something the has no smell mayb a little purfum on it to smell if i smell something that makes my stomach turn, i've heard to use lemon juice on the rag/bandanna/ect. but haven't tried it. i also eat half of my cup of dry cereal before i go to sleep too (i use fruit loops or captain crunch plain). Good luck im still testing....

I put ground ginger in everything. also keep saltines and water by your bed eat some before waking up and moving too much. eat a high protien before going to bed, eat a midnight or a middle of your sleep period high protien snack again or cheese works. avoid foods high in fat, or sugar especially before bed. 3 oz. whole grain pasta. 3/4 cup of cheese 1/4 cup of sour cream spice as you like ( i add some ground ginger) salt and onion powder.... counts as 3 whole grains 1 1/2 proteins, 3 calciums, and 1 healthy fat... you can make this as bland or spicey as you want.

Try jolly ranchers or any kind of sour suckers or lozenges . At a motherhood store they have these "morning sickness" suckers that are really expensive and the only thing about them is they are sour, no ingenious extra ingredients so give that a try, so far they work for me about every 10 of 15 times i get sick. Good Luck to all fellow toilet inspectors!!LOL

I tried ginger when I was pregnant with my second-it didn't work. I had "all-day" sickness for 40 weeks, every day, every night. Nothing worked for me. My OBGYN gave me nausea relief medicine they give chemo patients (Zophran) and that didn't even work.

I agree with tianakallen, ginger is the way to go. Im six weeks pg now and feeling sick and tired all the time, so i tried the age old method deep sea fishermen use to keep the up chucks away. Ginger! Ginger is 3 times more effective than any sea sick tablets on the market. I personally dont like the ginger gum not a fan, but ginger beer (a good quality one) like bundaburg workes wonders and smells great too as you pour it over ice. Maybe the aromatics of the ginger play a big role in tummy soothing. Its working for me maybe it might work for you. Wish i had known about ginger with my 1st pregnancy. Good luck!

Nobody had told me there was any pregnant-woman danger/problem with calf liver and I ate it weekly with my first pregnancy, panfried in garliced butter.

I chewed ginger gum. A lot of ginger gum. Made a huge difference for me. I purchased it at my local pharmacy where the motion sickness medication was located.
