Avoid Lead in Tap Water

Concerned about lead in your drinking water? Use cold water for cooking, and let the tap run for several seconds before getting a drink. Hot water might save you a few minutes when making hot chocolate, but because lead gets into your water through your hot water pipes, that's one time-saver that's not worth the risk.

Report Abuse 		i grew up on well water and prefer it over city water... city water just tastes really bad to me... i cant drink it plain... in koolaid or hot choc... or tea... but thats the extent of it...
