Put Off Wearing Maternity Clothes

Not quite ready for belly-panel jeans? Push back the "Started wearing maternity clothes today..." diary entry by buying a few cute (but inexpensive) non-maternity outfits a size bigger than usual. It'll buy you a few more weeks now and will also help bridge the "Oh my god my butt is still huge!" gap on the other side of pregnancy.

I know that some people look on it lowly, but I shop at goodwill. You can find a name brand pair of jeans for like $4.

i loved buying maternity clothes, they are so much more comfortable than trying to squeeeeeze into those silly things that hurt when you sit etc.... it was fun to me to get to go shopping and i literally replaced my entire wardrobe with jeans capris shirts dresses all kinds of stuff etc. i think its great and enjoy the chance to get new clothes, besides no point in being uncomfortable just to say i stayed in my old clothes, noone can see the belly bands and they make super cute maternity clothes!

I tried to put off wearing maternity clothes. But really, with everything expanding (legs, butt, hips) just break down and buy some maternity jeans! I felt like a sausage desperately trying to squeeze into my old jeans. And, the hair tie - safety pin - belly band MacGuyver rigging got old after the millionth time running to the bathroom. The maternity jeans slip on, and nobody can see the panel.

One thing to think about too is if you have a c-section you'll want loos fitting clothes that won't press on the insicion. The clothes in a bigger size would be good for this, especially if you don't want to live in pajama pants like I did with my first.

I never bought ONE item of maternity clothing! I could never find any that fit properly (MOST maternity lines only go up to a SMALL size 16, which fits more like a size 12)! I'm plus-sized, and just bought pants and tops that I knew would S-T-R-E-T-C-H a lot for tummy and boobs. But I kept it stylish, as I was working in retail until my maternity leave.

I was already in-between sizes in pants, so all my dress pants (black & khaki) still fit (but my jeans are tight). Unfortunately I can't dig into my husband's clothes because he is a medium-which is getting too tight for my bust & hips.

I plan on checking out a local maternity thrift store my friends have raved about: Bellies to Babies (Minneapolis).

Those belly bands are a great idea but, with my wild hormones and living in South Texas, wearing extra layers of not-so-breathable clothing is TORTURE! I've opted for dresses, maternity or not. Comfortable, breezy and I can finally work on my "leg tan"!

This time around, I invested $16 in the Motherhood Maternity version of the Bellaband to hide that fact that my pants aren't zipped up and that my shirt no longer covers my entire belly and I'm so glad. I did the hair band closure on my pants for all of a week and this is infinitely better. I'm so much more comfortable than I was during my first pregnancy thanks to this tummy tube top.And I don't feel guilty about such a time sensitive purchase because it was so inexpensive.

Having big enough clothes after the baby is born is SO nice. I feel like I wore sweats for weeks and there were times that I was just dying to fit into a pair of jeans.

Good idea.. I used a hair rubber band on the button of my pants with a long fitted shirt for most of both of mine. I think I bought three pieces of maternity clothes...

I did this with my second baby and it was SO nice being able to wear normal clothes (albeit a size bigger) after my baby was born.
