Get a Pedicure Before Baby Arrives

You're working hard to prepare your body for labor and delivery: Lots of squat exercises? Check. Eating well? Check. A great lip gloss? Check. Bikini wax? Yeah right. But don't rule out all salon treatments. A pre-delivery pedicure is a great way to relax your racing mind and your aching feet. Plus, everyone can admire your fabulous toes between contractions.

I got pedis all the way thru my last pregnancy and this one.  Drs. suggest that you get your feet massaged to help with the swelling....  The spray tan, well, I think that may be a little toxic...

A massage therapist (if they are professional) won't massage your feet/ankles because there are certain pressure points that are known to induce labor.

I'm 39 weeks, and with a bit of effort I can still reach my own feet, so I've been keeping my toenails gorgeous for the big event. :) The hospital I'm going to has a spa in the postpartum area, so I think I will be getting one done as I'm recovering... :)

IVE BEEN GETTING PEDICURES EVERY WEEK FROM 36 WEEKS ON. IT FEELS AWESOME AND ALL THE MASSAGING HELPS WITH THE EDEMA. DONT WORRY, THE NAIL POLISH IS FINE. JUST MAKE SURE THE SALON IS WELL VENTILATED.

Call ahead to the spa, one of the spas in my area actually has a prenatal massage session. If you have high blood pressure they wont do it so talk to the receptionist about anything before setting up an appointment. I found out the hard way and didn't get a massage but got a great haircut/manicure instead.

Not being funny for anything. I thought if you were pregnant they won't do your feet at the spa, or was it a massage? I don't know. I'm 39 weeks and have been really wanting to get my feet done.

I think pre-delivery pampering is very important a pedicure is a great way to go about it. If pedicure isn't your thing go for a fake tan...hair appointment...massage...anything to make you feel a bit special

I'm a big fan of polished toes for all great (and small) occasions in life. It never fails to make me feel better about myself. Good tip!

Oh my gosh, I can't even see my toes anymore so the last thing I'm going to do is worry about what they look like. I'm sure the doctors and nurses will see my unpolished and uncut toes in all their glory but I don't really care.

I think a pre-delivery pedicure is a great idea, except that I felt like I was almost in labor from 37 weeks on... had I gotten a pedi then, it would've all chipped off by the time I actually went into labor.
