Avoid Buying Unnecessary Baby Gear

Do you lose all sense of reality upon entering a baby superstore? (Seriously, you do know you don't need 19 receiving blankets and four diaper pails, right?) Avoid getting revved up into a buying frenzy when shopping for baby gear by bringing backup: the reinforcement of a trusted mommy friend who knows what you really need for your new baby.

I've limited myself to one small purchase every week, one new outfit or nursery accesory, and that way I get to fuss about exactly which one I get in the store which help me feel good about it. We haven't spent much on baby stuff so far (I'm in my 31st week now) except for a few pieces of furnature we picked up. We still need a fewlast little pieces like crib sheets and hooded towels, but yeah, that's what baby showers are for.

I have two beautiful teenage daughters and I'm pregnant with my third child, another little girl. This will be a first for my husband and I constantly have to remind him not to overbuy but he's just so excited!! I keep saying we need to stock up on diapers ;-)

If you feel like you HAVE to buy something, just buy a thing of diapers. It is the one thing that you will not run out of and will never get enough of at your showers.

wait as long as you can to start buying stuff, chances are you will stick to buying what you need and not too much impulse stuff.

This is smart,With my first child i made the mistake of overbuying and the very next day i had a friend over(she has 3 kids)to help me out on decorating the nursury she took one look at my over stuffed nursury and started laughing she explained why she was so i checked out the recipet that came out to $4000.00 yes it was that insane it said "30 day warrenty"so she helped me go thru my stuff i got and she told me i did mot need 30 baby bottles especially because i was going to breast feed and so on in the end i got $1900.00 back i was amazed!!
