Minimize Breast Pain in Pregnancy

Remember all those cute sports bras you bought right after you got that gym membership you never use? Grant them new life as night wear. Wear one to bed and give your aching breasts extra support. See, they came in handy after all.

I originally thought this was a dumb idea since sports bras dont really have as much individual boob cushion like a padded bra or something but I tried it in the beginning and it has REALLY helped. I used a high impact sports bra from walmart I bought that was like 8-10 bucks. I only slept with it on and it made a big difference, planning on using it again at the end.

naturalmama I had the same problem with my regular sports bras designed for high impact aerobics (just about killed me trying to fit em in there anyway), but I bought some really light weight ones and they work much better. Just a little support so they aren't just hangin' there. Still a bit sore, but not nearly as bad as before the sports bras. Good luck!

I have big breasts and sports bras kinda squish them out of shape and make them more sore...

I have a small chest, so the support thing doesn't do anything but make the pain worse... and it's already pretty bad! :( any other ideas for small-chested mothers-to-be?

I can't say about minimizing breat pain, but I do know that you "nip out" to the extreme, so be prepared with a little extra padding in the bra. They will show through even sweaters and such!

Well-padded (VickiSecret-esque) bras. They give some cushioning in case something gets in your way or you get in something else's way.

Oh you know just the other day i was reading one of my parents magazines, and it said for sore breasts, but cabbage leaves in you bra over your nipple. I know that sounds wierd it actually was for breast feeding but i heard it works either way. Its suppose to take down some swelling also. Good luck!

I know this will sound weird but give your significant other some enjoyment and have them sit behind you and hold them up for you for a while. Im sure they wouldnt mind giving your breasts a massage while they are at it ;-)

I absolutely agree! I'm only 9 weeks, and it feels like someone has taken a baseball bat to my chest! Sleeping became so uncomfortable until my mom suggested sleeping with a sports bra... Now I can sleep in comfort!
